The ministry said in the report, released on the eve of the new year, that it has made extensive efforts in the current year with the aim of promoting moderate thoughts and correcting misunderstanding and wrong beliefs about Muslims at the international level.
It said the ministry organized various Quran competitions at different local, national and international levels, including those for foreign students residing in Egypt.
The Awqaf ministry also dispatched over 100 prayer leaders and propagators to different countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and North and South America in 2022.
In the holy month of Ramadan, 62 religious scholars were sent to 20 countries, the report added.
Translating and publishing three translations of the Quran- in Greek, Hausa, and Hebrew, and publication of 95 books on various religious subjects were among other activities of the ministry.
It also organized many religious and Quranic programs in more than 6,000 mosques for people, including children and teenagers, the report added.
The report went on to say that in 2022, the ministry gifted religious and Islamic books to Islamic organizations and centers in various countries such as Ghana, Austria, the US, Switzerland, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Kuwait, Spain, Mauritania, Indonesia and Tanzania.
In Egypt, the Awqaf ministry is tasked with organizing, coordinating and overseeing Quranic and religious activities.
