Resistance Best Model to Reach United Islamic Ummah: Scholar

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A prominent Lebanese Sunni scholar says Islamic resistance, as has been witnessed in Palestine, is the best model for arriving at a united Muslim community in the world.

“We have witnessed how in recent years the unity of Muslims in Palestine led to the defeat of occupiers. Accordingly, Islamic resistance is the best model for realizing a united Islamic Ummah,” Sheikh Ghazi Hanina, chairman of the Assembly of Lebanese Muslim Scholars, said on Tuesday.

He made the remarks while addressing a host of Afghan scholars in Qom in a course on training experts in the proximity of Islamic schools of thought.

“The Muslim world should unite and stay away from the division so as to realize the Muslim Ummah and defeat enemies of Islam, especially America and the Zionist regime,” said Hanina.

He went on to stress that Shias and Sunnis should stress commonalities.

“Muslims should not let enemies of Islam highlight differences, sow division, and achieve their sinister aims through warmongering and infiltration into Muslim communities,” he said.

True Muslims should be united and prevent the enemies’ infiltration and the emergence of extremist groups in the name of Islam, the scholar added.
