Gaza Commemorates 143 Quran Memorizers

TEHRAN (IQNA) – In a ceremony in Gaza, 143 Quran memorizers were commemorated by people and officials.

The ceremony was held on Thursday night in the northern regions of the besieged strip.

The event was organized concurrent with commemorating 44 martyrs of the region, all from the Al-Batsh family, who were killed during the 2014 Israeli aggression on Gaza.

All the Quran memorizers were also from this family and received awards at the event.

One of them named Afnan Al-Batsh won an Umrah trip.

Heads of Gaza Quranic centers as well as representatives of Palestinian groups took part in the event.

Quranic activities are very common in the Gaza Strip and Quran recitation and memorization programs are held in the coastal enclave all over the year.

Back in early September, the Dar-ol-Quran and Sunnah society in the Gaza Strip organized a ceremony to honor 580 Quran memorizers.
