TEHRAN (IQNA) – Nasr al-Shammari, the spokesman for Iraq's al-Nujaba Islamic resistance movement, underlined the illegitimacy of the presence of foreign forces on Iraqi soil.

Al-Shammari officially announced in a televised interview that the Iraqi Islamic Resistance no longer committed itself to the appointments of the interim government and would target the United States’ positions in response to attacks by their mercenaries.

According to the Communication and Media Affairs Centre of al-‎Nujaba in Iran‎, the official spokesman of the al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance Movement, stated in a live interview with Yemen’s al-Masirah tv that the Americans had been defeated by Daesh’s thirty-year survival project in Iraq and were looking for an excuse for a dignified withdrawal from the country.

Al-Shammari noted that the American forces are now in a bad situation due to the attacks of the Islamic Resistance groups and added, “The Islamic Resistance has repeatedly targeted military logistics convoys and even bases that the enemies kept out of reach. This is the reason the Americans are bombing the Popular Mobilization Forces on the Syria-Iraq border with the motive of reopening the terrorists’ route and reviving Daesh, as well as to cut off communication between member countries of the Islamic Resistance.”

Emphasizing the illegitimacy of the presence of foreign forces on Iraqi soil, which has been achieved in the shadow of exploiting the weakness of the central government, he continued, “Only the blows of Islamic Resistance can force the United States to reconsider its calculations and withdraw completely from our country.”

The deputy secretary-general of al-Nujaba recalled the power of the Islamic Resistance to strike at the interests of the occupiers throughout the region and noted, “Even if we are targeted by American mercenaries, our response will be to their American master. This response is more painful for the United States and its mercenaries because they are well-aware of our capabilities.”

al-Shammari described the periodic tolerance of the Islamic Resistance groups with the occupiers as a result of political pressures and asking for a deadline for the withdrawal of foreign troops and added, “Through Iraqi intermediaries, the United States has repeatedly called for a moratorium and claimed to have a timetable for its withdrawal but we saw that they have built large bases in Erbil and al-Anbar, which was a sign of dishonesty.”

He went on to point out that today the conflict has reached the stage of bloodshed and that this war is borderless and clarified, “Therefore, from now on, we even oppose the Iraqi government’s timetable and warn the government that if American forces do not leave the country immediately, we have no obligation regarding the rules of conflict.”

In another part of the conversation with al-Masirah, the spokesman of al-Nujaba described the role of the Iraqi Islamic Resistance as one of the main components of the “al-Quds equation” and said, “The enemies are aware of this fact before their friends and know that the direction of the Iraqi Resistance is towards al-Quds. For this reason, Zionist drones attacked the positions of Islamic Resistance groups in Iraq.”

al-Shammari described regimes, such as Saudi Arabia, as “stooges and not allies of Washington” and added, “The United States has only one ally in the region and that is the Zionist regime, which is fighting on behalf of the United States. The likes of the Saudi regime only pay the price for Israel’s stupidity.”

He called the Palestinian issue “the central issue of the Iraqi Islamic Resistance” and said, “This is our belief and any dangerous challenge that the United States and the Zionist regime create for us cannot take us out of this front and situation.”

At the end of his address to the American enemies, the deputy secretary-general of the al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance Movement stated, “We are the inhabitants of this land and according to all evolutionary traditions, any occupier will eventually be forced to leave (voluntarily or by force). You left our country defeated when you had 300,000 soldiers and thousands of planes and tanks here. Now, with a few thousand troops, you cannot impose an equation on Iraq. As part of the Islamic Resistance Axis, we are not alone, and we are triumphantly defeating the plans of the United States.”
