TEHRAN (IQNA) – More than 20,000 worshippers attended Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem al-Quds (Jerusalem) yesterday.

Friday prayers were held for the first time yesterday after month-long closure of the mosque, according to Palestine.info.

Meanwhile, the Zionist regime’s troops prevented many Palestinians from entering the mosque.

Shaykh Yusuf Abu Sneina, the Imam and Khatib of al-Aqsa Mosque, in his sermon underlined the need for Palestinians to remain united.

He also called for support for Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli jails.

The Quds Islamic Waqf Organization had in March banned presence of worshippers at the mosque to stem the spread of the coronavirus.

Al-Aqsa Mosque was reopened in June on the condition that all health instructions are fully observed by those visiting the mosque.
