Recitation of Surah Al-Ma’idah by Egyptian Qari Al-Toukhi (+Video)
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Sheikh Muhammad al-Toukhi was a prominent Qari and Ibtihal reciter from Egypt.
Born in 1922 in the Arab country’s Monufia Governorate, al-Toukhi memorized the entire Quran at an early age.
He went to Al-Azhar Islamic Center in 1932 and received a certificate of mastery over Quran recitation styles later.
The Quran master was particularly known for his skills in Ibtihal.
He travelled to many countries for recitation of the Quran, including Jordan, Iraq, Syria, Iran, Malaysia, Pakistan, Uganda and Nigeria.
Al-Toukhi died on March 6, 2009 at the age of 87.
