19th Mahdism Doctrine Conference Slated for February 23

IQNA – The Jamkaran Mosque in Iran’s holy city of Qom will host the 19th edition of the conference on the doctrine of Mahdism.

It will be launched on Thursday morning, February 23, with a speech by Ayatollah Reza Aarafi, the director of Iran’s Islamic seminaries, Hpjat-ol-Islam Saeed Bakhshi, the scientific secretary of the conference said.

He told IQNA that 180 papers in Arabic, English and Persian have been submitted to the secretariat of the conference.

He added that 48 of the papers will be presented and discussed at four panels in the conference.

“Youth, Intizar (awaiting the savior) and Islamic Revolution” is the theme of this year’s scholarly event, Hojat-ol-Islam Bakhshi noted.

A number of different academic and other institutes, including the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR), the International Quran News Agency (IQNA), and the municipalities of Tehran and Qom, have cooperated in organizing the event, he added.
