Experts Underline Use of Quranic Diplomacy in Developing Cultural, Political Ties

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Quran researchers and experts attending a forum at the international section of the 30th Tehran International Hoy Quran Exhibition highlighted the need for Iran to use Quranic diplomacy to develop cultural and political relations in the world.

The forum “Quranic Diplomacy; A Model for Elevating Islamic Republic of Iran’s Cultural Diplomacy” was held Thursday night at the exhibition, which is underway in Tehran’s Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (prayer hall).

Seyed Hassan Esmati, Iran’s former cultural attaché in Tunisia and Senegal, was one of the speakers at the forum. He said Quranic diplomacy can be defined as formulating international relations based on Quranic understanding.

He added that in practice, Quranic diplomacy means prioritizing Quranic activities in foreign relations in areas such as education, research and art.

The Holy Quran has a unique capacity for adjusting international relations, Esmati stated.

He also said that at the personal level, Quranic diplomacy can open new horizons for contemporary man.

He further stressed the need for promoting the Quranic discourse in the world and developing interaction between Quran researchers in Iran and other countries.

University scholar Hojat-ol-Islam Gholam Reza Behrouzi Lak and Head of Imam Hadi (AS) Shia Studies Specialized Center Hojat-ol-Islam Davoud Komijani were the other experts addressing the forum.

The 30th edition of the Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition was launched on Saturday and its international section was inaugurated two days later.

The international section will run for ten days.

Artists and Quran activists from 21 countries, including Pakistan, Iraq, India, Russia, Tunisia, Algeria, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Oman, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Kenya and Russia are taking part in the expo.

Quran translation, poetry and literature, civilization-making mosque, family and Quranic lifestyle, children, Quran-based consultations, grassroots Quranic institutes, Quranic education, promotion of the culture of Nahj al-Balagha, promotion of Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh, Quranic innovations, religious arts, and religious publications are among the expo’s other sections.

The event is annually organized by the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in the holy month of Ramadan, with the aim of promoting Quranic concepts and developing Quranic activities.

It showcases the latest Quranic achievements in the country as well as a variety of products dedicated to the promotion of the Holy Book.
