Muslims particularly the Shia community in the region marked the occasion by sending the message of peace across the Muslim world as a reminder to tell Muslims to live in harmony and brotherhood.

Eid al-Ghadir marks the anniversary of the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) sermon in Ghadir Khumm after his last Hajj (Farwell Hajj) in which he appointed Imam Ali (AS) as his successor.
The occasion is marked on the 18th of Dhul Hajjah in the lunar Islamic calendar.
Each year Eid al-Ghadir is marked by Muslims in Kashmir with reassertion to stay committed to the religion of Islam and teachings and beliefs of the Prophet (Peace upon Him).
