TEHRAN (IQNA) – Secretary General of the Union of Resistance Scholars underlined the need for sectarianism and sectarian sedition in the Muslim world.

In a televised speech on Saturday, Sheikh Maher Hammoud condemned religious extremism and said sectarian sedition and sectarianism have no place in Islam, al-Nushra website reported.

He referred to the spread of radical ideas in the region, highlighting the necessity for confronting extremist and terrorist groups like ISIL.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the prayers leader of the Quds Mosque in Saida, Lebanon, underscored the importance of attention to the cause of Palestine.

He said all Muslims are duty-bound to help the Palestinian people liberate the occupied lands.

Sheikh Hammoud went on to say that the cause of Palestine should be promoted via conferences, books, pulpits, TV and radio stations and the social media.
